Rehabilitation
We believe that competent professional drug rehabilitation should be made available in the county jail with rewards for completing treatment and 12-step follow-up. Inmates completing such treatment programs whould be given special release status enabling them to attend college or trade school with federal grants and loans, enabling them to return to society as productive citizens.
It can only take one time for use of meth to become physically and emotionally addictive, and until the addict gets treatment he or she cannot or will not be able to stop.
We, as a society, are treating the symptoms but not the cause. Recovery or jail should be the only choice!
