Gordon chamber is Red Ribbon finalist

The Gordon County Chamber of Commerce has been chosen as a finalist for the 2006 Georgia Red Ribbon Award.
The Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Addictive Diseases announced statewide finalists based on 2006 Red Ribbon Week activities.
Gordon County’s Red Ribbon Week, sponsored annually by the Chamber of Commerce’s Drugs Don’t Work Program, involves all areas of Gordon County, including the city and county school systems, Drug Task Force, Citizens Against Meth and numerous businesses, civic organizations and private supporters.
In celebration of national Red Ribbon week, the State of Georgia honors schools and organizations through Gov. Sonny Perdue’s Red Ribbon Campaign Committee.
The awards ceremony will be held at the Carter Center in Atlanta at the end of March.
