Citizens Against Methamphetamine and other addictive substances known as C.A.M. sponsored the third annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament on March 5-7th at the Sonoraville Recreation Complex.
The tournament consisted of 11 teams. Grand Prize went to Dalton Wholesale Floors. The winners consisted of Todd Stephens, Josh Jaco, Ryan Chattam, Tim Fortenberry, and Alan Moore. Second place winner went to team Norman. CAM would like to sincerely thank the advertising sponsors, GBT Bank, Whatley-Kinney Veterinarian Clinic, and Gordon County Parks and Recreation. Team sponsors were Dalton Wholesale Floors, Designs by Tabitha, Clint Thomas Agency, Liberty Tax Service, and Baxter Waste Services. A special thanks to all the volunteer referees and scorekeepers, Jeff Gallman, Diane Jones, Jimmy Fairbanks, Tim Wilson, Brian Anderson, Cody Erwin, Nathan Rickett, Chase Starkey, Tenn Harbin, and Trace Vaughn. Thank you to Chick-fil-a for providing food for our volunteers.
Proceeds for the event will benefit Calhoun and Gordon County’s finest K-9 police officers Simba, Cezar, Benny, and Moro for the purchase of bulletproof vest. CAM supports and appreciates all the hard work and dedication of these dogs and their handlers to fight the war on drugs. Thanks to Cory Tate, Benny’s handler for bringing Benny to be our special guest.
